ABOUT THE GALLIVANTING EXPLORER

The Gallivanting Explorer is focused on getting off the beaten path; in aimless wandering and jumping into a place with eyes mostly closed. Getting lost is a great way to discover a place. So The Gallivanting Explorer might wander down some regular old alley when, only a block away, completely overlooked, sits one of the worlds’ great architectural wonders.

Of particular interest is travel that doesn’t harm the environment and impacts the communities and cultures visited in a positive way. If it involves a giant tour bus you won’t read about it here. We want to see the world. Not harm it.

ABOUT ME

For twelve years I worked in marketing for the travel and leisure industry. I did it because I love travel. The problem was, I got to write about really cool places without actually going anywhere.

So I decided to change things up. I still write marketing materials in the travel and leisure industry, and you can see that here. But I’m also a travel writer and blogger. Which means I get to go places and actually see them.
