As pictures go, this is probably terrible. It’s sort of blurry and the lighting is all wrong and some other things that photographers know about are probably missing. But I love it. When I was in Ireland, the entire country was glued to the television, watching the “lads” play in the Euro Cup. I think they lose most of the time. As I understand it, they do a lot of losing. But these kids – as long as I was in the pub – never moved. It could be they didn’t even blink. They were little sponges, watching their heroes in rapt attention.
