A Little Taste Of Irish Culture

Ireland, home of fine Mexican food.

I grew up eating Mexican food. Rather, I grew up eating Tex Mex food, which is Mexican food plus five pounds of melted cheese. It became a bit of an addiction in our family. Wherever we went, no matter how illogical or inappropriate, we would look for it. I remember wandering around Boston one night, in the early ’90’s, looking around, desperate for Mexican food, and not finding any. I remember insulting a cab driver in Rome when I casually asked about Mexican food. He almost crashed the car he was so insulted by the question. (What a fool he was!)

Well, those days are over. This picture was taken in Kilkenny, Ireland, in the window of an Irish Pub. And, as you can see, Taco Tuesday has crossed the pond, along with it’s sibling, Fajita Friday. The world can rejoice. Or not.
